Cotton
The world’s most popular natural fibre, cotton is an easy fabric to take care of and a comfortable fabric to wear. It is soft, absorbent and breathable, making it ideal for clothing worn close to the skin. We are uniting with Cotton Australia, using Australian grown cotton in selected designs. This partnership enables us to verify the origin of the fibre while supporting our local industry. Australian Cotton is grown by farmers who care for the natural environment and produce amongst the world’s strongest, cleanest cotton fibres. Over 90% of Australian cotton farms are owned by families, which means by choosing Australian cotton, we are also choosing to support Australian families and their communities. We’re also a proud member of Better Cotton. The Better Cotton Initiative looks to improve cotton production globally and exists to help cotton communities survive and thrive, while protecting and restoring the environment. This involves training farmers in using water efficiently, caring for soil health and natural habitats by reducing harmful chemicals, and respecting the rights and wellbeing of cotton workers.
We recommend washing cotton in cool water. This will help to preserve their quality and maintain their colours, while also reducing your environmental impact. When machine washing, choose a short cycle, use a mild detergent and wash inside out with similar colours. If you’re handwashing, use a natural soap, rinse thoroughly and gently squeeze out excess water. Air dry your cotton garments in the shade to maintain their shape, quality and colour. If you need to use your dryer, choose a cool cycle. If your cotton garments need ironing, use a warm setting, preferably before your cotton garment has completely dried. For coloured cotton, we recommend ironing inside out using a cool temperature to prevent heat damage. Store your cotton garments in a cool, dry place and avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
